WhatsYourPrice Review 2026: A Bid-to-Date Model, Pay-to-Chat Credits and No Refunds
What WhatsYourPrice lets you bid for a first date, why credits unlock chat after an offer is accepted, and its no-refund terms.

Quick Verdict
Good
WhatsYourPrice suits adults who want a date-offer mechanic and accept paying for chat through non-refundable credits. Its clear premise, free browsing and optional Selfie and ID badges are real strengths.
The biggest weaknesses are that verification is optional, the official pages do not state credits per action, and Trustpilot reviewers (1.7 of 5) describe widespread fake profiles.
At roughly $0.25-$0.50 a credit with no refunds, value is middling, so skip it if you want guarantees or a mandatory-verified pool.

WhatsYourPrice is a dating site where one member (the "Generous" side) sends a priced date offer to another (the "Attractive" side). If the offer is accepted, the sender spends credits to unlock messages. This WhatsYourPrice review is based on documents and third-party sources only.
The site is run by Reflex Media, Inc., the company behind Seeking. The decisive caveat is trust: credits are sold in non-refundable packs, and the site's Trustpilot page averages 1.7 of 5 with scams as the dominant complaint.
Verdict: a real but weakly protected pay-to-chat service, so approach with caution.

How a Date Offer Works
The site's own "how it works" text describes two roles. Attractive members "wait for Date Offers to come through" and accept the ones they like. Generous members find someone and "send them a date offer".
The offer carries a dollar amount. A third-party review reports a $5 minimum with no stated maximum.
The operator's homepage says the average offer is about $120 and 30% of offers are accepted, but these are marketing figures dated November 2024 and are not independently checked.
After acceptance, the Generous member allocates credits to unlock messaging. The help center says conversations open "once an offer has been agreed upon and the Generous Member has allocated the appropriate amount of credits".
What You Really Pay: Credits, Not Subscriptions
There is no premium membership. A third-party cost page lists three packs: 100 credits for $50 ($0.50 each), 500 for $150 ($0.30) and 1,000 for $250 ($0.25).
The official help center does not publish how many credits an accepted offer costs. One third-party summary reports about 10 credits, which would be roughly $2.50-$5. A Trustpilot reviewer mentions $7.50 per contact. Treat both as reported, not confirmed.
The date money is a separate matter. The FAQ says WhatsYourPrice "is a platform intended to establish the terms of the date and does not assist in the exchange of payment". The site is not a payment channel for the offer.
The terms say all purchases are final. Refund exceptions in the help center are narrow: a refund of credits can be issued if a profile you contacted is removed by an administrator or is hit by the site's automated security system.
| Pack | Price | Per credit |
|---|---|---|
| 100 credits | $50 | $0.50 |
| 500 credits | $150 | $0.30 |
| 1,000 credits | $250 | $0.25 |

Verification, Scams and the Legal Gray Zone
The FAQ lists two optional badges. Selfie Verified is free. ID Verified costs $4.99. Both need a live selfie matched to the profile photos.
The homepage states members "are not subject to mandatory background screenings" but may submit for a background check or ID verification. The terms add that the company gives no guarantee that third-party screening results are accurate.
Third-party feedback is harsh. DatingScout reports fake profiles asking for money outside the app and escorts despite prohibitions. On Trustpilot, 87% of 106 reviews are one star and many allege scams and stolen photos.
These are user and reviewer claims, not findings. Still, the rule is clear: never send money, gift cards or bank details to anyone. The terms say not to give financial details to other members.
Is Paying for Dates a Legal Question?
Press has debated this since the site launched in 2011 and asked whether paid dates blur into prostitution. The company has said members compensate someone for their time. See the NPR discussion (2011).
The terms prohibit escorting, prostitution and human trafficking. Local law varies, so this review gives no legal conclusion. Readers should check their local rules.
Privacy and Account Deletion
The privacy policy (effective 1 Jan 2026) lists name, email, government ID copies for verification, card details and selfies among collected data. It states the company will not sell or give away personal information except in listed circumstances.
It also describes cookies, Google Analytics and device fingerprinting, and says Do Not Track signals are not honored. Data is processed mainly in the United States, with EU operations handled by a Cyprus affiliate.
The FAQ says deactivating an account removes the profile from search. Profiles inactive over 365 days are deleted. Full data deletion can be requested through the privacy contact listed in the policy.
How This Review Was Researched
This review rests on documents checked in October 2026: the official homepage, FAQ, terms of use and privacy policy, plus third-party cost and review pages and a Trustpilot summary.
No account was created, no credits were bought and no direct product use was done. Quality sub-scores therefore rest on documented features and third-party consensus, which carries lower confidence than direct use.
Where the official pages are silent, such as credits per action, the text says so. Older versions of this page gave rough price bands and an unsourced claim of high reply rates; both were removed.
Who It Suits, and the Alternatives
It suits adults who want a priced first-contact mechanic, accept that credits are final, and will verify profiles carefully before chatting.
It does not suit anyone expecting refunds, a mandatory-verified member pool or a conventional dating experience.
For a sister service from the same operator, see the Seeking review, whose terms now ban transactional relationships. Or compare directly in Seeking vs WhatsYourPrice and WhatsYourPrice vs Secret Benefits.

A third-party cost page lists 100 credits for $50, 500 for $150 and 1,000 for $250. That is $0.25-$0.50 per credit. How many credits an accepted offer uses is not stated by the operator; one source reports about 10.

Deactivate it in Settings to remove the profile from search. Profiles inactive over 365 days are deleted. The privacy policy lists a privacy contact for full deletion requests, with GDPR and CCPA rights.
Seeking is run by the same operator, but its terms ban transactional relationships and it requires a selfie check. See the comparison pages for a side-by-side view.
