Muah AI Review 2026: Why Its 2024 Breach Makes It Hard to Recommend
Why Muah AI's 2024 breach exposed about 1.9 million users, why no security fix has followed, and why we advise against it.

Quick Verdict
Below Average
Muah AI is a live, browser-based adult companion with chat, voice, photos, video and, on its $99.99 tier, live calls, but we advise against signing up.
In September 2024 a breach exposed about 1.9 million email addresses together with users’ AI prompts and sexual preferences, and Muah AI has published no security changes since: its privacy policy still dates from 2022, there is no two-factor login and subscriptions are non-refundable by policy.
The yearly VIP price ($69.99) is low, but no feature outweighs that record, so the safety failure overrides the sub-scores and the overall is capped at 4.0, below their 5.1 average. If you want adult AI chat, see the safer alternatives below.

Muah AI is a browser-based adult AI companion: you build or pick a character and chat by text, voice, generated photos and video, with live calls on the top plan. Its pitch is “uncensored” roleplay for adults.
The decisive caveat is safety. In September 2024 a hacker took a database that linked about 1.9 million email addresses to users’ AI prompts and sexual preferences, and many of those prompts sought child-abuse material.
Two years on, Muah AI has published no security changes and its privacy policy still dates from 2022. Verdict: we advise against signing up.

Muah AI Review Summary
| What we score | Score | Why this score |
|---|---|---|
| Features | 6.5 | Muah’s guide and VIP page document a broad set: chat with selectable models, voice messages, live calls (Ultra only), photos, 4K enhancement, image-to-video, music and chat exports. No independent source measures quality, and calls and the stronger models sit on the $49.99–$99.99 tiers, so confidence is low. |
| Pricing | 5.5 | Official VIP page: $19.99 a month or $69.99 a year (≈$5.83/mo), cheap on the yearly plan. Marked down for $49.99 and $99.99 upper tiers, an unpublished free-tier cap, XP levels spent on extras, and Terms that make subscriptions non-refundable except at the operator’s discretion. |
| Usability | 6.0 | Browser chatroom with self-serve account deletion, a cloud-data wipe, chat export, backups and seven interface languages. Marked down for no store app (only a 2024 Android APK), login and checkout branded “Fevermate”, and layered controls (cores, slots, XP) that the guide needs many pages to explain. Based on Muah’s documentation. |
| Safety | 1.5 | A breach dated Sept 2024 exposed 1.9M emails with AI prompts and sexual preferences; many prompts sought child-abuse material; extortion was reported. No security changes published since, policies dated May 2022, no 2FA, and no published rules on minors, real people or deepfakes beyond a general ban on illegal use. This failure overrides the other scores: the overall is capped at 4.0, below the 5.1 average. |
| Content | 6.0 | Adult text, photo, video and voice are all documented, with selectable models and an “uncensored” stance. Output quality is unverified, and the 2024 leak showed that stance came with weak moderation, so it earns no bonus. |
| Overall | 4.0 | Below Average — our editorial judgement, informed by the five scores above. How we score |

What Happened in the 2024 Muah AI Breach
The breach is the most important fact about Muah AI, and its essentials are well documented. A hacker told 404 Media the site was “basically a handful of open-source projects duct-taped together” and that they “found some vulnerabilities relatively quickly”.
The database they took tied users’ email addresses to the prompts they had written for their AI companions.
| Date | What happened | Reported by |
|---|---|---|
| 17 Sep 2024 | Breach date on record | Have I Been Pwned (HIBP) |
| 8 Oct 2024 | 404 Media publishes the story; HIBP adds 1,910,261 email addresses the same day and flags the breach as sensitive | 404 Media, HIBP |
| 8–9 Oct 2024 | Muah AI’s administrator says the hack was noticed “a week ago”, blames competitors in the “uncensored AI industry” and says moderators delete child-related chatbots | Malwarebytes, CyberInsider |
| 11 Oct 2024 | Reports that the data is being used in extortion attempts | Malwarebytes (update) |
| 14 Oct 2024 | Reports that attackers contacted “high value IT employees”, asking for access to their employers’ systems | Linklaters |
What Was Exposed
- Email addresses: 1,910,261 of them. Many “appear to be personal accounts with users’ real names”, 404 Media found, and Linklaters noted that the site verified addresses at sign-up.
- AI prompts and sexual preferences: HIBP lists “AI prompts” and “sexual fetishes”: the instructions users gave their companions, linked to their addresses.
- Not listed: HIBP does not list passwords or payment details among the leaked data.
The Child-Abuse Prompts
The gravest finding concerns what some users asked for. HIBP’s record says “many of the prompts were highly sexual in nature, with many also describing child exploitation scenarios”.
404 Media found that “in many instances” users were trying to create chatbots that role-play child sexual abuse. Troy Hunt, who runs HIBP, wrote that such material, or at least requests for it, was “rampant” throughout the system.
Muah AI’s administrator said a moderation team deletes all child-related chatbots. Yet 404 Media reported that when two people posted about a reportedly underage character on Muah’s Discord server, a moderator told them to take it to private messages.
The fallout goes beyond embarrassment. In a 14 October 2024 analysis, the law firm Linklaters noted that in the UK, making or possessing AI-generated child-abuse “pseudo-images” is “a very serious criminal offence”, and it compared the blackmail risk with the 2015 Ashley Madison breach.
Extortion attempts were reported within days, although Malwarebytes said it was unclear whether they drew on users’ activity or only on the leaked addresses.
Were You Exposed? How to Check, Delete and Respond
Because HIBP classes the Muah breach as sensitive, a public search of HIBP will not show it. Only the verified owner of an address can see whether it is listed.
- Check privately. Sign in to the Have I Been Pwned dashboard with the address you used, or sign up for its Notify Me alerts. HIBP sends a verification link to that address; once you confirm it, the Muah breach appears under Breaches if you were in it.
- Delete the account. Muah’s user guide puts Delete Account in Settings, and a separate Wipe Cloud Data tool erases cloud chat history and settings. The privacy policy also lets you request deletion by emailing love@muah.ai. Deleting removes what Muah still holds; it cannot recall data that was already stolen.
- Stop any subscription in Muah’s settings, by email or through your payment provider, as the Terms allow.
- Change the password anywhere you reused the one you set on Muah. Passwords are not among the leaked data HIBP lists, but it is sensible after any breach.
- If someone threatens you with the leak, do not reply or pay. Keep the messages and report them to the police; in the US, the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center takes extortion reports.
Malwarebytes’ advice after the breach applies to any app of this kind: do not sign in with a Google or other mainstream account, or with your everyday email address. Muah AI offers Google and Discord sign-in alongside email.
Muah AI in October 2026: What Has and Hasn’t Changed
Muah AI did not shut down. On 6 October 2026 muah.ai was live, with new user guides dated 3 October 2026. What we could not find is any public account of what went wrong in 2024 or what was fixed.
- No published security changes. We found no statement on Muah’s site about the breach or new safeguards, and no follow-up reporting in 2025 or 2026.
- Policies still dated 2022. The Terms and the Privacy Policy both carry an effective date of 17 May 2022. The policy promises only “reasonable security measures” and says nothing about how long chats are kept, where they are stored or whether they train AI models, while the About page describes models that train themselves on an “ever increasing dynamic data training set”.
- A privacy claim at odds with the record. Muah’s About page says conversations are “advance encrypted thru SSL” and that “whatever happens inside the platform, stays inside the platform”. SSL protects data in transit; it did not stop a database being copied in 2024.
- No two-factor login. Sign-in is by email and password, Google or Discord, and no second factor is documented.
- Thin content rules. The Terms ban illegal use in general and refer to “Standards of Conduct” that we could not find published. We found no standalone policy on minors, real people or deepfakes. You can build a character from an uploaded photo, and the guide lists adult image tools called Photo X-Ray and Advanced X-Ray; the only rule it states is to use “adult fictional characters and images you have permission to use”.
- Self-declared age gate. You confirm you are 18 or over by continuing; no verification method is documented.
- No store apps. The App Store and Google Play listings now return “not found”, and the About page calls store apps using Muah’s name “scam/phishing apps”, yet the homepage offers an Android APK last updated in November 2024.
What Muah AI Offers, According to Its Own Pages
Set the breach aside and Muah AI documents a broad feature list. Everything below comes from Muah’s own user guide and VIP page, not from use, and no independent source we found measures the quality of its writing, images or memory.
- Characters: premade companions, a community card library, or your own character built from a name, a description and an uploaded image.
- Chat models: a choice of “AI cores”, with automatic fallback to another model. The VIP page says the two upper tiers are “powered by” GPT-5 or Grok for the first 30 or 100 chats a day, which sits awkwardly with the About page’s talk of proprietary AI. If accurate, those chats pass through outside AI providers, which the privacy policy covers only as “third-party service providers”.
- Voice and calls: voice messages, spoken versions of replies and live calls, which the VIP page lists only for Ultra VIP, capped at 30–60 minutes a day.
- Images and video: photos generated from an appearance description, 4K enhancement and short videos made from images, some with audio. A music generator is listed too.
- Memory: how much past conversation the AI can use depends on your plan, with a summary carrying older facts forward.
- Interface: seven languages (English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Hindi, French and Russian). The login and checkout panels are branded “Fevermate”, a name Muah’s pages do not explain.
Muah markets all of this as “uncensored”, though its uncensored-AI guide concedes that models “may have different behavior or restrictions”. Without independent testing there is no basis for rating the output, and the 2024 leak showed that the uncensored stance came with weak moderation.
Muah AI Pricing: VIP Plans, Billing and Refunds
Muah AI has a free account and three paid tiers. These are the US-dollar prices on Muah’s VIP page and in the chatroom’s plan panel on 6 October 2026. Older third-party listings of a $9.99 entry tier do not match the current page.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | What Muah lists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | — | A daily reply limit (size not published) and photo quotas; the guest demo needs no login |
| VIP | $19.99 | $69.99 (≈ $5.83/mo) | Unlimited chat with “no peak limit”, unlimited “enhanced” photos, more voice generation, multi-chat |
| GPT-5 / UHD VIP | $49.99 | $499 (≈ $41.58/mo) | Expanded memory, GPT-5/Grok for the first 30 chats a day, UHD photos, 4K enhancement |
| Ultra VIP | $99.99 | $999 (≈ $83.25/mo) | Live calls (30–60 minutes a day), AI video in beta, GPT-5/Grok for the first 100 chats a day |
There is no separately sold token currency, but the guide says some extras “spend levels” of the XP shown in the chatroom footer, and video shows a generation cost that changes with clip length.
- Payment: card or crypto. Card checkout opens in a new tab on a separate payment site. Muah promises an “SFW Bank Statement”, and its payment page code says charges appear as “USWEIXIN” or “AI DRAMA”.
- Refunds: the Terms say subscriptions “are NOT refundable”. Support may grant a one-time partial or full refund “upon good faith”, Muah says it will counter-dispute chargebacks, and its payment page code warns that disputing a charge gets the account permanently banned.
- Cancelling: any time, in Muah’s settings, by emailing love@muah.ai or through the payment provider.
The yearly VIP plan is cheap for the category, but price is not the deciding question: paying links your card, and usually your name, to a service that has already lost its users’ data once.
Safer Alternatives, Matched to What You Wanted From Muah
None of these is risk-free. Each has its own review on this site, and the ratings and caveats below come from those reviews.
| If you wanted… | Consider | Why it is the better bet | What to watch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chat, voice and images in one browser app | Candy AI (8.1) | Published bans on minor-like and deepfake content; no breach, regulator action or lawsuit found in its review | Token-metered media, de-identified chats may train models, no 2FA, memory is per chat, and its ads reached a deepfake site through an affiliate in 2024–25 |
| A long-term companion with memory and voice | Kindroid (8.0) | Memory-first design and realistic voice; its policy says it does not sell or share personal data, and no Kindroid breach is documented | The free tier is gone; $13.99 a month plus add-ons; no 2FA |
| Free, uncensored text roleplay | Janitor AI (8.0) | A free platform with a huge community library; no platform-side breach on record | Your data trains its AI with no opt-out, no 2FA, and community proxies can log chats (a 2023 proxy leak exposed some users’ chats) |
| Easy uncensored character chat | SpicyChat AI (7.3) | A large free library and paid plans from $5.95 a month | No end-to-end encryption, vague retention and a self-declared age check |
If Muah’s lack of filters was the draw, note the trade-off: Candy AI and Kindroid have firmer content rules, while Janitor AI and SpicyChat are closer to Muah in permissiveness but leave more of the privacy burden with you.
How This Review Was Researched
This is a research-based review.
On 6 October 2026 it drew on Muah AI’s homepage, VIP page, chatroom plan panel, user guide, About page, Terms and Privacy Policy; Have I Been Pwned’s breach record; reporting by 404 Media, Malwarebytes and CyberInsider; Troy Hunt’s notes; Linklaters’ legal analysis; US trademark records; and App Store, Google Play and Trustpilot searches.
No subscription was bought and the product was not used, so feature descriptions come from Muah’s own pages and the feature and content scores carry low confidence. With no store listings and only four Trustpilot reviews, no meaningful user rating exists.
The safety record overrides the other scores: the overall is capped at 4.0, below the 5.1 sub-score average. An earlier version of this page scored Muah AI 4.5.

What We Liked
- Broad documented feature set: text chat, voice messages, photos, image-to-video, music and, on Ultra VIP, live calls
- The yearly VIP plan is cheap for the category at $69.99 (about $5.83 a month), per the official VIP page
- An ongoing free account (with a daily reply cap) and a guest demo that needs no login
- Self-serve account deletion, plus a tool that wipes cloud chat history and settings
- Discreet billing: card charges show as “USWEIXIN” or “AI DRAMA”, per the payment page

What Could Be Better
- A breach dated September 2024 exposed about 1.9 million email addresses linked to AI prompts and sexual preferences (Have I Been Pwned)
- Many leaked prompts sought child-abuse material, despite the operator’s claim that moderators removed such content
- No security changes published since the breach; the Terms and Privacy Policy are still dated May 2022
- No two-factor login, and no stated policy on data retention, AI training or real-person likenesses
- Subscriptions are non-refundable by policy, and disputing a charge can get the account banned
- No App Store or Google Play app; on Android you would have to sideload a 2024 APK
- Live calls and the stronger models cost $49.99–$99.99 a month

Who Muah AI Is For
Pick It If
Almost no one: the 2024 breach and the lack of any published security fix outweigh its features
Skip It If
- You would sign up with your everyday email or a Google login: the 2024 leak tied prompts to identifiable addresses.
- You want a refund if it disappoints: the Terms make subscriptions non-refundable except at the operator’s discretion.
- You need two-factor login or a written policy on data retention and AI training: Muah AI publishes neither.
- You want an app-store app: the store listings are gone, leaving the browser or a sideloaded APK.
Frequently Asked Questions
No, not on the evidence available in October 2026. A breach dated 17 September 2024 exposed about 1.9 million email addresses together with users’ AI prompts and sexual preferences, and many of the prompts sought child-abuse material.
Muah AI has published no security changes since, its privacy policy is still dated May 2022, there is no two-factor login, and it states no policy on data retention or AI training. We advise against signing up.
A hacker who called the site “a handful of open-source projects duct-taped together” copied its database; Have I Been Pwned dates the breach to 17 September 2024.
404 Media reported it on 8 October 2024, the day HIBP added 1,910,261 email addresses, flagged as sensitive, with AI prompts and sexual fetishes.
Many addresses appeared to be personal accounts with real names, many prompts described child exploitation, and extortion attempts were reported within days. Muah AI’s administrator blamed competitors.
Use Have I Been Pwned, but not its public search box: because the Muah breach is flagged as sensitive, only the verified owner of an address can see it.
Sign in to the HIBP dashboard or sign up for Notify Me, confirm the verification email HIBP sends, and look under Breaches. If you are listed, delete your Muah account, change any reused password, and report any extortion message to the police rather than paying.
Yes. On 6 October 2026 muah.ai was live, with user guides dated 3 October 2026 and VIP plans on sale.
We found no public statement from Muah AI about security changes since the 2024 breach, and its Terms and Privacy Policy still carry a May 2022 effective date. Its App Store and Google Play listings are gone; the homepage offers an Android APK file instead.
On 6 October 2026, Muah AI’s VIP page listed VIP at $19.99 a month or $69.99 a year (about $5.83 a month), GPT-5/UHD VIP at $49.99 a month or $499 a year, and Ultra VIP, which adds live calls, at $99.99 a month or $999 a year.
A free account has a daily reply limit whose size Muah does not publish. Card charges appear as “USWEIXIN” or “AI DRAMA”.
Refunds are unlikely: the Terms say subscriptions “are NOT refundable”, with only discretionary one-time exceptions through love@muah.ai, and Muah says it will counter-dispute chargebacks filed without contacting support. You can cancel at any time in settings, by email or through your payment provider.
Deletion is self-serve: Settings has Delete Account and a Wipe Cloud Data tool, and the privacy policy lets you request deletion by email.
Not in the app stores. Its App Store and Google Play listings now return “not found”, and Muah’s About page says the service is “website access only” and that store apps using its name are impersonations.
You use it in a browser; the homepage also offers an Android APK download last updated in November 2024, which you would have to sideload.
Muah AI’s About page names USWEIXIN, with an address in Sheridan, Wyoming. USWEIXIN, listed as a corporation, is also the applicant on US trademark filings for “MUAH AI”, the latest filed in April 2026 with a California correspondence address.
The service launched as “AI RPG” in April 2023. Its Terms and Privacy Policy name no company, only “MUAH.AI” and the address love@muah.ai.
It depends on what you wanted. For chat, voice and images in one browser app, Candy AI publishes explicit bans on minor-like and deepfake content, though it meters media with tokens and has no 2FA.
For a long-term companion with memory and voice, Kindroid says it does not sell or share personal data. For free uncensored text roleplay, Janitor AI has no platform breach on record but weak privacy terms.
None is risk-free, so read each review first.
Bottom Line
Muah AI scores 4.0/10 (below average). It's best for: almost no one: the 2024 breach and the lack of any published security fix outweigh its features.
