Cam4 Review 2026: Free to Watch, Pricey Tokens and a 2020 Exposure

Watching is free. The help center says tokens are optional and cover tips, gifts and private shows, and that larger packs cost less per token.

CAM4 does not show token prices to logged-out visitors, and the checkout is login-gated. The only pack list found is from DatingScout, last updated 20 Sep 2026, so treat the numbers below as reported rather than confirmed.

The same source lists other pack variants, with fewer tokens per dollar, at up to about $0.20 per token. Prices can differ by payment method and region.

The site advertises 15% bonus tokens on a first purchase, and the help center confirms token purchases include a transaction fee. The older figure of $6 for 100 tokens could not be supported and has been removed.

Tipping, gifts, private shows and spying on a private show all run on tokens. The home page labels rooms as Regular, Private and Group shows, and shows a "Spy Now" option on rooms already in a private show.

Private per-minute rates are not published by CAM4, so costs depend on each broadcaster. Multiply the broadcaster's token rate by the reported price of about $0.16-$0.20 to estimate a minute.

For broadcasters, the help center lists payout routes with minimums of $50 to $100, including Paxum, Yoursafe, wires, US ACH and Pinguino. A "Cash to Tokens" option converts earnings into tokens at 100 tokens for $10.00.

That conversion implies a cash value of $0.10 per token for broadcasters. CAM4 does not publish its overall revenue share, and figures of 50-60% on secondary sites are unverified.

In spring 2020, researchers at SafetyDetectives found a CAM4 production Elasticsearch database online without password protection. They published their report on 4 May 2020, and its production logs dated from 16 March 2020.

The database held 10.88 billion records and about 7 TB of data. Reporting on the findings said it included names, payment logs, chat records, country, device information and hashed passwords. About 11 million records contained email addresses and about 26 million had password hashes.

Only a few hundred records carried full names, card types and payment amounts. An estimated 6.6 million users were caught up in the exposure.

The researchers said the server was taken offline within about half an hour of notification. They did not say whether anyone malicious accessed the data. At the time, the operator was reported as an Irish group company, Granity Entertainment.

No later comparable incident turned up in this research. CAM4 has not published, in anything found here, an account of what it changed afterwards, so the old claim that it "rebuilt its security" is not repeated.

The privacy policy says guests are not asked for personal data, but all visitors are tracked with analytics tools. It names several vendors, including FoxMetrics, Fivetran, Snowflake, Dataiku and Sisense.

It also says CAM4 retains viewing and shopping history and uses it for recommendations and targeted advertising. Registered users can set a choice about the sale of personal information in Privacy Settings, and the policy adds sections for California and Brazil.

Card payments are handled by third-party processors, and the policy says the financial data they collect is not shared with CAM4. On deletion, it says personal data is deleted when an account is terminated or expires, except where law requires retention.

The site has an 18+ entry gate. For broadcasters, the policy says CAM4 keeps names, ages, aliases and stream snapshots to verify age and meet US record-keeping rules, and the site footer links a 2257 statement and a Know Your Client page.

The help center says PayPal can buy Gold memberships in 30 European countries. No card descriptor or chargeback policy was found in the documents checked.

The help center's mobile section says visitors should open cam4.com in a phone browser, and states that there is no app to download. An earlier version of this review claimed app availability varied by region, which does not match that page.

The home page offers an "Add to Homescreen" prompt, which creates a shortcut to the web site rather than a store app. No usability or stream-quality findings are given here, because no independent measurements were found.

The help center is built on a ticket system, and its pages describe emailing or starting a conversation with support. No response-time commitment was found, so the earlier 24-72 hour claim has been dropped.

This review is based on documents checked in October 2026: the CAM4 privacy policy and site footer, help center articles on tokens, fees, payouts, memberships and mobile access, the SafetyDetectives report, an Australian Computer Society write-up and a third-party price list from DatingScout.

No account was created, no tokens or membership were bought, and the site was not used. Quality sub-scores therefore rest on documented features and third-party reporting, and carry lower confidence.

Claims about LGBTQ+ depth, performer counts and country mix from the earlier version of this review were removed because no dated, checkable data supports them.

On the figures above, CAM4 tokens cost more per token than Chaturbate, where viewer prices are about $0.08-$0.11 and broadcasters receive $0.05 per token. The earlier claim that CAM4 was cheaper no longer holds.

The rating dropped from 7.4 to 6.7. Pricing fell the most, because reported token costs are more than double the old $0.06 figure, and safety stayed low because of the 2020 exposure and tracking disclosures.

Features and content scores are moderate: documented show types, Gold membership and payout routes are real, but nothing about catalog size could be checked. The ceiling for research-only reviews is about 8.5, and CAM4 lands well below it.
