Candy AI Review 2026: Cheap Subscription, Pricey Tokens and Real Memory

Candy AI sells one Premium tier in three billing lengths. These are the prices on the US-dollar version of the checkout page on 6 October 2026. Visitors elsewhere see local currency (an Indian visitor saw ₹1,180 a month), and “additional local taxes may apply”.

Every paid plan includes unlimited text, 18+ images and video, the mobile-only Live Action mode and 100 tokens a month (yearly subscribers also receive theirs monthly).

The “70% off” on the yearly plan is measured against the monthly rate rather than a teaser price: the checkout says it “renews automatically for the same price and term”, unlike rivals whose discounted first period renews far higher.

The Terms allow price rises, with notice before the next renewal.

The help center also describes Premium Plus (330 tokens a month, 20 memory slots, user personas). It was not on the public plan page on 6 October and its price is not published, so it is not scored here.

The free plan is small. The help center caps it at five messages across all characters, one custom character and one image.

The homepage calls this a “free trial”, but it is really a demo: enough to see the interface, not enough to judge a companion.

Text chat costs nothing extra on Premium. Almost everything else draws on tokens.

The help center lists generating images, creating a custom character, listening to a voice message, voice calls (still in beta), private-content packs and turning an image into a short video.

Only one feature has a published rate: Candy Roulette, a video-chat mode, costs 5 tokens a minute.

Nothing else has a published per-item price, and the token shop sits behind a login. Third-party guides disagree: one lists 4 tokens per image, about 3 a minute for voice calls and 12 per video clip, and another says 2 per image.

The only official yardstick is the referral page, which values 200 tokens at $20. That is about 10 cents a token, which makes the monthly allowance worth roughly $10.

Three documented details affect how fast tokens go:

• In-chat image generation is on by default for Premium users. Candy AI added an off switch specifically to prevent “unwanted token usage”.
• Characters in “Realistic” mode can send photos, voice notes or videos at random times until you turn the setting off. The help center does not say whether these cost tokens.
• Exclusive characters unlock for a set number of tokens (the help center’s example is 200).

Unused tokens are a grey area, because Candy AI’s own documents disagree.

The Terms of Service (revised 22 September 2026) say remaining tokens “will expire and become unusable” when a subscription ends, while an August help-center article says the balance is kept for when you resubscribe.

The Terms are the binding document, so spend your tokens before you cancel.

This section reports Candy AI’s own documentation, not first-hand use. Where its marketing and its support pages differ, both are given.

• Characters. A library split into Girls, Anime and Guys, plus a creator for your own characters. The current creator offers three ethnicity presets (Caucasian, Asian and Latina), and the help center lists others as “still in development”. Since August 2026 there have also been “digital twins” of real adult creators, which Candy AI says are made “with the full consent of the creator”.
• Images. Generated in chat or in a separate generator. Candy AI claims improved “consistency” for new characters, but its own tips page warns that “maintaining consistent details like exact hair color or clothing might be challenging”.
• Voice. Voice notes, plus voice calls that are still labelled beta.
• Video. Short clips made from an image, also in beta. The help center notes that “not all generated videos currently include audio”. Live Action, an interactive video mode for selected characters, works on mobile only.
• Memory. The homepage promises a companion that “remembers what matters”. The help center is more precise: detailed memory “is generally tied to the active chat itself”. Resetting or deleting a chat wipes it, and the extra memory slots belong to Premium Plus.
• Languages. The site is translated into 13 languages. A help article last updated in March 2026 names only English and French as officially supported for chat. Later guides explain how to keep a character speaking Spanish, German, Portuguese or Japanese.
• Apps. There is no native iOS or Android app. You use the browser, or add Candy AI to your home screen as a PWA. When checked on 6 October, none of the store apps with “Candy” in the name were published by EverAI.

The help center also documents some rough edges. Proactive messages were removed in June 2026, switching language means restarting a chat, and characters can be delisted without notice. The Terms rule out refunds for such changes.

EverAI’s Privacy Notice (revised 30 July 2026) is more candid than most in this category. Some of it is worth reading before you type anything personal:

• Training. Your exchanges with characters, prompts and replies alike, may be de-identified or anonymized and used to “train and develop our AI models and moderation technologies”. Preparing that data “may include human review of de-identified and/or anonymized interactions”. The Terms also give EverAI a perpetual licence to use your content for training and marketing. Neither document offers a training-specific opt-out beyond the general GDPR right to object.
• Third parties. Message content may go to “third-party LLM providers and/or hosters”, and data may be transferred outside the EU, including to the United States. Beyond the sharing it describes, the notice says personal data is not sold or transferred to third parties without consent where consent is required.
• Retention. Account data is kept for three years after your last activity (possibly cut to one), or until you ask for deletion. Payment records are kept for ten years and debugging logs for 30 days.
• Security. The homepage says data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+), and the notice mentions encrypted passwords. Nothing documents end-to-end or at-rest encryption of chats, and two-factor login is not mentioned anywhere. You sign in with an email and password, or through Google, X/Twitter or Discord.
• Age checks. Entry uses a self-declared 18+ age gate. Third-party age estimation or ID checks apply only “as applicable based on your location”.

In practice, treat Candy AI chats as private from other people, but not from EverAI’s systems or its model providers. Keep addresses, contact details and financial information out of them, which the Terms themselves advise.

Candy AI allows 18+ chat, images and video for adults. Its Blocked Content Policy (revised 30 July 2026) bans content resembling minors outright, and known child-abuse material is reported to NCMEC.

It has a zero-tolerance rule for non-consensual intimate imagery and “images intended to resemble actual persons (‘deepfakes’)”, and it prohibits deceptive impersonation of real people and celebrities. Users cannot upload their own images, which rules out face-swap-style requests.

Moderation runs on what EverAI calls proprietary LLM-based controls, and human reviewers decide bans. In April 2026 EverAI became an Internet Watch Foundation associate member, which the IWF describes as a first for an AI companion developer.

The operator’s record is not spotless. On 28 January 2025, Bellingcat reported that Candy AI had been advertised on MrDeepFakes, a major site for non-consensual deepfake pornography.

The ads were a link at the top of the page and pop-ups, and they began around mid-December 2024.

EverAI told Bellingcat the placement came through its affiliate programme, said it does “not condone or promote the creation of deepfakes”, and said it had cut ties with the publisher. The links came down after Bellingcat’s questions, and MrDeepFakes itself shut down in May 2025.

This research found no breach, regulator action or lawsuit involving Candy AI or EverAI.

• Cancelling: go to Settings → Unsubscribe and confirm the prompts. Premium runs to the end of the period you have paid for. There is no option to pause.
• Refunds are narrow. A refund request must come within 24 hours of payment. It is refused once more than 20 tokens have been used, and it applies only to card payments. Cancelling does not trigger a refund. Buyers in the EU and UK have a 14-day right to withdraw from their first purchase, minus a prorated charge for what they used. That right does not apply to renewals.
• Billing: charges show as “EverAI” on your statement. Depending on the country, you can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer (Volt, Pix) or cryptocurrency.
• Deleting your account is self-serve, under Settings → Danger Zone, and it also cancels any active subscription. EverAI says it keeps some data, such as payment records, for legally required periods. Deleted chats cannot be recovered.

Candy AI vs DreamGF

This is the closest match. Both apps are web-first, pair a subscription with a 100-token monthly meter and mix chat with on-demand images, so the difference is in the small print.

DreamGF’s $12.99 first month renews at about $25.99, and its first-year annual price renews at roughly $311.88. Candy AI’s plans renew at the price you signed up for, apart from the current $9.99 first-month offer.

DreamGF takes cards only, while Candy AI also accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer and crypto. DreamGF does keep an ongoing SFW free tier, which is a better way to try before paying than five messages.

On history, 404 Media documented DreamGF generating non-consensual celebrity nudes in 2023, while Candy AI’s issue was an affiliate ad on a deepfake site rather than its own outputs.

This is a research-based review.

On 6 October 2026 it drew on Candy AI’s live and archived checkout page, about 70 help-center articles, the Terms, the Privacy Notice, the Underage and Blocked Content policies, EverAI’s trust-and-safety pages, App Store and Google Play searches, the IWF member register and Bellingcat’s reporting.

No subscription was bought and the app was not used. Prices, policies and limits are therefore documented facts, while quality points (memory, voice, image consistency) rest on Candy AI’s own descriptions and carry lower confidence.

Candy AI’s Trustpilot profile has been removed and there is no official store app, so no independent user rating was available. An earlier version of this page scored Candy AI 8.9 on quality claims that could not be documented. It now scores 8.1.
