OurDream AI Review 2026: All-in-One Media, $19.99 Pricing and a Contradicted Encryption Claim

OurDream (brand name "Dream") is built around designing a virtual partner from scratch — appearance, personality, voice and adult preferences — then chatting, generating images and short videos, and taking voice notes or live calls, all in one web interface.

It is deliberately multimodal: chat with memory and on-demand media sit side by side, which is still relatively uncommon in the category.

Its own copy markets a very large audience ("over 10 million dreamers") and millions of community characters, though the figures are internally inconsistent — "7 million" user-generated characters in one place and "Over 11 million characters" in another — so treat those as marketing, not hard figures.

A quick disambiguation: this is the ourdream.ai companion, not Stability AI's unrelated image tool also called "DreamStudio." No founder is publicly named.

This is a research-based review, not a first-hand test.

On 6–7 October 2026 the following were checked directly: OurDream's homepage (pricing, the encryption claim and the user/character counts); its Notion-hosted privacy policy (encryption, AI-training and retention clauses, and the operating entities) and content-moderation policy; its refund policy; the official help center (DreamCoins per-action costs, refunds, cancellation and account deletion); the Safety Center; and the site's 18+ age gate.

No subscription was bought and the product was not used first-hand.

That matters for the quality scores: features, usability and content rest on OurDream's documented capabilities and third-party consensus rather than our own observation, so they carry lower confidence than the verified facts on pricing, the operator, the policies and the encryption contradiction.

Prices and coin rates come from OurDream's own pages and were current on the date checked; verify them before paying.

This is the finding that should shape how you use OurDream. Its homepage reassures visitors: "Your chats are safe with end-to-end encryption… No one can read them, not even us."

That is a strong, specific promise — and OurDream's own privacy policy contradicts it. The policy says OurDream processes your content, "including to train our artificial intelligence/machine learning models," and may disclose information to "employees, consultants, and other vendors."

Those two statements cannot both be true. If staff and systems can read your chats and images to train models, the content is not end-to-end encrypted in any meaningful sense.

The honest reading is that OurDream's security is better documented than most rivals' — the policy states data is encrypted at rest (AES) and in transit (TLS 1.3) on what it calls a SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2-certified platform, with GDPR and PCI DSS 4.0 compliance — but the "not even us" line is marketing overstatement, not a technical guarantee.

Treat anything you type or generate as readable by OurDream and used to improve its models, and keep real-world identifying details out of it.

OurDream's feature set is one of the most complete in the category, which is its main selling point. Everything lives in one chat window, and the media features draw on a DreamCoins balance.

• Deep character creator: appearance, personality, interests, communication style, relationship dynamic and voice, in realistic or anime styles — one of the more granular builders around.
• Chat with memory: OurDream markets companions that remember details about you across the relationship; chat is unlimited for subscribers.
• Image generation: realistic and anime 18+ images, generated inside the chat.
• In-chat video: short AI clips of your companion (up to about 60 seconds), generated in the same window.
• Voice notes and live calls: companions send voice replies and take calls from a large voice library.
• Community library: a large catalog of user-created characters to chat with instead of building your own.

The all-in-one integration is the real differentiator: having chat, images, video and voice under one login is less fiddly than stitching separate tools together.

It is not, however, uniquely capable — direct rivals such as Candy AI, DreamGF and FantasyGF also offer images, video and voice.

On quality, third-party reviewers generally praise the image generation and rate voice as the weaker link, with flatter delivery than the best text-to-speech; because this review did not test the product first-hand, treat those quality judgments as secondhand consensus rather than measured results.

OurDream has one paid subscription plus a DreamCoins credit balance that meters media and voice — understanding that two-layer model is the most important thing before you subscribe. Prices below are from OurDream's own homepage and help center, checked October 2026.

Two things to weigh. First, the headline "$9.99/month" is only achievable by paying $119.88 up front for a year; the true monthly price is $19.99.

Second, DreamCoins are a real meter.

The subscription includes 1,000 coins a month, and OurDream's help center lists what each action costs: an in-chat image is 5 coins, standard video is 100 coins per 5 seconds, and a voice call is 50 coins a minute (subscriber chats are free; non-subscribers pay 1 coin per message).

So 1,000 included coins stretch a long way for images but only cover roughly 50 seconds of standard video or 20 minutes of calls — heavy video or voice users will buy top-ups (pack prices are not published).

Payment is by card or cryptocurrency, and crypto payments are final and non-refundable; monthly plans are non-refundable once coins are used, anything more than 25% used cannot be refunded, and EEA/UK/Swiss users keep a 14-day withdrawal right.

Set the encryption overstatement aside and OurDream's documented posture is, on balance, above average for an adult companion app — but with clear gaps.

The privacy policy commits to AES-at-rest and TLS 1.3 encryption, SOC and GDPR/PCI DSS claims, and no data breach is on record.

Against that: your chats and images train its models, data retention has no fixed period, it uses Google Analytics and reserves the right to add ad networks later, and two-factor authentication is not offered.

Account deletion is available and permanent, removing your generations and chat history.

Content rules are a relative strength. The content-moderation policy prohibits CSAM "including implied depictions," non-consensual impersonation or harassment of real people, sexual violence, trafficking, hate speech and self-harm promotion, enforced by automated filters plus human review with reports handled "within 7 business days or sooner."

On real people specifically, the Safety Center states plainly, "We do not host real-person likeness," and the homepage FAQ bars "minors, deepfakes, and celebrity likenesses."

Age assurance is the weak point: OurDream relies on self-declaration — you tick a box confirming you are an adult — with no robust ID or biometric checks described on the pages reviewed.

OurDream competes on breadth — deep customization plus images, video and voice under one roof — while its closest rivals compete on polish and simpler pricing. It publishes its own rival-comparison pages, which tells you who it is chasing.

Bottom line: choose OurDream AI if you value an all-in-one, media-rich experience and are comfortable managing a DreamCoins balance and accepting that your content trains its models.
