Streamate Review 2026: Performer-Set Per-Minute Rates, $2 Entry Charge and No Refunds
Why Streamate bills by the minute at performer-set rates, what the $2 entry charge covers, and why all sales are final.

Quick Verdict
Good
Streamate suits viewers who want a billed-by-the-minute private chat and accept a rate that each performer sets. Its terms are clear about the $2.00 minimum charge on entering paid areas, the $1.00 GOLD tip unit and a no-refunds policy.
The weak points are unpredictable per-minute costs, aggregated card charges and a legal record that includes a 2026 New Jersey ruling on performer status. It rates 6.8 out of 10 on documents and third-party consensus, so confidence is moderate rather than high.

Streamate is a live cam site where private chats are billed by the minute, at a rate each performer sets, rather than through a token wallet.
It is run by ICF Technology, Inc., a Seattle company owned by Accretive Technology Group, Inc. This Streamate review is built from its terms, performer site and court records.
It is aimed at viewers who want pay-as-you-go private time. The decisive caveat is cost control: rates vary by performer, charges can be combined on one statement line, and the terms state that all sales are final.

Streamate Review Summary
| What we score | Score | Why this score |
|---|---|---|
| Features | 7.2 | Documented pay-per-minute chat, GOLD tips, premium memberships and AI labels in the terms; breadth rests on the documents and third-party commentary, not use of the site. |
| Pricing | 5.8 | Free browsing and clear entry charge, but no rate card, aggregated charges and a stated no-refunds policy hold the score down. |
| Usability | 6.8 | No app listing found and the home page was not viewable behind a CAPTCHA; interface quality rests on third-party consensus, so confidence is low. |
| Safety | 7.0 | Named operator, 2257 records, performer ID rules and an AI-label policy; held back by no stated viewer ID check, no refunds and the New Jersey ruling on performer status. |
| Content | 7.0 | Performer variety and stream quality were not observed; the score rests on the platform's age and reported size, with low confidence. |

How Streamate's Pay-per-Minute Billing Works
Streamate keeps watching and paying separate. The terms say there is no charge for free picture archives, free guest chat rooms, free profiles and other free member services.
Paid chat is different. Entering a clearly marked Pay Per Minute area authorizes a charge at the posted rate, and fees are set by each performer. The terms say the fee is disclosed before you enter.
The terms also say credit card users and certain debit card users are charged $2.00 or the first full minute, whichever is greater, on entering paid areas. That amount is credited back to the account when you buy premium services.
What a Minute Costs
Streamate does not publish a rate card, so no single price is verified. Third-party roundups describe an average near $3.00 a minute and rates up to about $9.99, but those figures are reported, not documented by the operator.
The table below is arithmetic at illustrative rates, not quotes.
| Illustrative rate | 10 minutes | 30 minutes | 60 minutes |
|---|---|---|---|
| $2.00 a minute | $20 | $60 | $120 |
| $3.00 a minute | $30 | $90 | $180 |
| $5.00 a minute | $50 | $150 | $300 |
GOLD tips are added on top of the per-minute rate, and the terms say they are billed in the same way.
GOLD Tips and Premium Memberships
GOLD is a site currency, not a subscription. The terms define it as something you can send a performer in addition to the per-minute rate, and say one GOLD equals $1.00.
The terms call GOLD use "completely voluntary". If your first purchase is a GOLD tip, the full amount is billed immediately and sent to the performer only after payment is collected.
Premium memberships are a separate product. They cover services beyond per-minute chat, such as videos or club access, and the fee and any recurrence are disclosed before you authorize them.
The terms give a 30-day recurring membership as an example, with cancellation from its account page. Membership prices were not visible without an account, so none are quoted here.
Older write-ups describe a "Gold membership" at $19.99 a month with per-minute discounts. No Streamate document checked in October 2026 describes such a plan.
Refunds, Cancellation and Card Statements
The refund section of the terms is blunt: "All sales are final. We have a 'no refunds' policy." Credits or discounts may be given at the operator's discretion for technical problems you have tried to resolve.
The terms also let the operator combine charges from a billing cycle into one or more aggregate charges. Components can be requested by emailing support, so a statement line may not show each session.
The terms say discrepancies must be reported within 30 days of appearing on your statement. Membership can be ended by emailing customer service with login and card details.
Some US states add taxes. The terms say Alabama customers pay an extra 10 percent and Utah customers an extra 2 percent for state age-related taxes.
The billing descriptor on bank statements is not stated in the documents checked, so it is not assessed here. For a general look at cam-site payment safety, see our Chaturbate payment safety guide, which covers the same issues.
Age Checks, ID Records and AI Labels
The terms require members to be at least 18 and the age of majority where they live, with a stated zero tolerance for minors. Performers must show government-issued photo ID, according to the performer site.
The terms describe a "robust age verification process" for federal record-keeping under 18 U.S.C. 2257 and 2257A. A custodian of records is listed at the Seattle address.
Streamate's terms do not describe an ID check for viewers. Rules for viewers vary by jurisdiction, and some regions require age assurance independent of the site's own terms.
The terms also contain an AI-disclosure policy. Performers must disclose third-party AI tools that alter appearance or voice, an "AI Enhanced" label is shown automatically, and the terms say all performers are real, verified people.
The same terms admit that detection is not infallible and not every AI use will be labelled.
Court and Regulator Record
No action by the US Federal Trade Commission or another regulator against Streamate or its operator turned up in searches of FTC materials and news in October 2026. That is an absence of results, not proof that none exists.
The main public record is private litigation. In a class action in the US District Court for New Jersey, performers sued the operator over their classification, and the court certified a class in April 2025.
On 29 May 2026 the court held that performers are independent contractors under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act but employees under New Jersey's "ABC" test. A National Law Review summary quotes the court as finding them "statutory employees" under New Jersey law.
This is a labour-classification dispute, not a finding about viewer billing or safety. Its effect on fees, payouts or how performers are paid had not been announced in the sources checked.
A second, separate case against the operator was filed in November 2025 and dismissed without prejudice in February 2026 after a voluntary dismissal.
Strengths and Trade-Offs
Streamate's strengths are documentary: a long operating history, a clear $1.00 GOLD unit, free browsing, and terms that explain the minimum charge and the no-refund rule in plain language.
The trade-offs are practical. Rates are set per performer, aggregated charges can obscure sessions, and cancelling a membership is by email or the account page rather than a published chat line.
Stream quality, performer variety and interface comfort are subjective and were not observed here. Scores for those areas rest on documented features and third-party commentary, so they carry lower confidence.
How This Review Was Researched
This review draws on the operator's terms and conditions (last updated 31 July 2026), its performer site, a court order and press summary on the New Jersey class action, a federal docket, and searches of FTC materials, all checked in October 2026.
No account was created, no subscription or tokens were bought, and no private show or chat was used. Streamate's home page sits behind a CAPTCHA, so pricing pages and membership prices behind login could not be viewed.
Quality sub-scores therefore rest on documented features and third-party consensus, which means lower confidence than first-person use would give. Figures that are not in the operator's own documents are labelled reported.
Streamate Compared With Other Cam Sites
Streamate sits beside premium per-minute sites rather than token-tipping rooms. Facts below come from each operator's own pages as checked in October 2026.

| Chaturbate | Tokens at roughly 8-11 cents; private rates set per broadcaster | Public rooms free to watch |
| BongaCams | Tokens at roughly 5-8 cents; fixed show rates | Public chat free to watch |
| MyFreeCams | Tokens; private shows fixed at 60 tokens a minute | Public rooms free to watch |
