Pure App Review 2026: 24-Hour Chats, $13.49 a Week and 180-Day Retention
What Pure App deletes after 24 hours, why there is no free tier, and the 180-day retention that complicates its anonymity.

Quick Verdict
Good
Pure suits people who want a hookup app where chats and shared media expire after 24 hours, and who accept paying a weekly or monthly subscription to use it. Its strengths are the expiry timer, blocked screenshots and an optional photo-verification badge.
Its weaknesses are the paywall (the US App Store lists $13.49 a week), a privacy policy that keeps some data for up to 180 days after deletion and shares data with advertising and analytics providers, and mixed store ratings.
Skip it if you want a free tier you can judge first, or if you read anonymous as no data kept.

Pure is an anonymous, ad-based hookup app run by Online Classifieds AG, a company in Zug, Switzerland. You publish a short "ad", browse other members' ads, and chats expire after 24 hours unless both people switch the timer off.
This Pure app review is research-based and covers pricing, privacy and record.
The decisive caveat: expiring chats are not the same as no data kept. Pure's privacy policy says certain data is retained up to 180 days after deletion and is shared with advertising and analytics providers. Verdict: workable for discreet chat, but not a no-trace app.

What Pure Is and How the Ad Model Works
Pure's App Store description calls it a dating app "to be honest with your intentions", and its FAQ frames it around casual, in-the-moment meeting. The mechanic is the ad.
You must publish your own ad before you can see other members' ads, according to the FAQ.
Likes last 24 hours, and chats expire after 24 hours along with anything shared in them, unless both people turn the timer off. Explicit photos are banned in ads.
Photos and videos can be sent as self-destructing media that disappear after viewing. The FAQ says photos, videos and chats cannot be copied, saved or screenshotted, and the other person is notified of an attempt.
The App Store title is now "PURE: Open-Minded Dating App" rather than an anonymous-hookup label, which suggests the company is positioning it more broadly than before. All of this is the documented design, not something observed in use.
What Pure Really Costs
Pure is subscription-led. The App Store description says that with a weekly, monthly or annual subscription you can "go online and interact via chats with other users during the chosen subscription period".
The US App Store lists Pure Membership at $13.49 per week and $29.99 per month, plus a $6.99 "Pure App Membership" item. Prices vary by country, and an annual plan exists but its US price was not shown on the listing.
Paid Extras
- Compliments: $2.99 each, with bundles of 5 for $11.99, 15 for $29.99 and 30 for $49.99.
- King of the Hill: $3.49, or 5 for $10.99; the FAQ says it pins a man's ad for an hour.
- Pure Queen: a women-only premium subscription with extra features.
Free Access Is Unclear
The iOS listing says you subscribe to get in. The developer's reply to a Google Play reviewer says a mutual like is all that is needed to chat, so the free tier may differ by platform or user group.
A user review on the App Store says women do not pay, which is reported rather than documented. No free trial is documented either way.
Renewal and Refunds
The FAQ says to cancel at least 24 hours before expiry, and that it cannot refund an activated subscription or items you have used. App Store and Google Play purchases are also subject to those stores' own rules.
As a rough estimate, four weekly payments come to about $54 against $29.99 on the monthly plan.
Privacy: Anonymous Display, Not Zero Data
The 24-hour timer limits what other members can see. It does not describe what the company holds. Pure's privacy policy says "certain data will be retained up to 180 days post-deletion".
It also says accounts unused for 730 days without an active subscription may be scheduled for deletion. Biometric data from photo verification is kept up to 12 months while the badge is active.
Moderation and Sharing
The policy describes a mix of manual moderation and automated systems to detect prohibited content, including CSAM detection via specialised providers. Content or derived data such as hashes and scores may be passed to those providers.
Service providers listed include advertising, marketing and analytics processors, and the policy says providers may use data for their own purposes. Processing locations listed include the EEA, UK, Russia, the USA and several other countries.
Store Privacy Labels
The App Store label lists identifiers, usage data, purchases, location, contact info, user content, sensitive info and diagnostics. Google Play's data safety section says personal info, app activity and app performance data may be shared with third parties, with encryption in transit.
Deleting your account removes chats, photos and history from your side, per the FAQ. Two-factor authentication is not documented. No breach, fine or lawsuit turned up in searches, which is an absence of evidence, not a guarantee.
Verification, Age Checks and In-Person Safety
Pure requires users to be 18 or older. In the UK it uses a face-scan age check, then government ID plus selfie if needed, through Veriff.
Elsewhere there is an optional Photo Verification badge (a selfie and pose, which "requires no ID") and a way to ask for "true photos" in chat. Optional means unverified profiles still exist, so a badge is a signal, not proof.
Other documented safety tools are in-chat scam-word alerts, "My Media Rules" to blur or block media, a Safety Signal live-location share and a post-date check-in.
None of these protects a meetup itself. Meet somewhere public first and tell a friend where you are going.
What Store Reviewers Say
As of 8 Oct 2026, the US App Store lists 4.3 out of 5 from about 86,000 ratings. Google Play shows 3.2 from about 196,000 reviews and 10M+ downloads.
The gap between the two stores is worth noting, though they draw different audiences and rating prompts. Recurring Play complaints quoted on the listing concern paying just to message and charges for extras.
The developer's published reply says a mutual like is enough to chat and that other features are optional. Store ratings are self-selected and say little about local user density, which only a look at your own area can answer.
How This Review Was Researched
This review rests on Pure's own privacy policy, terms, FAQ and website, its Apple App Store and Google Play listings, and searches for breaches, fines and lawsuits, all checked in October 2026.
No account was created, no subscription was bought and the app was never used. Prices are US App Store figures and may differ elsewhere.
Sub-scores therefore rest on documented features and third-party store ratings, which gives them lower confidence than scores built on direct use would have.
Pure vs Grindr, Feeld and Sniffies
Pure's main differentiators are the expiry timer and the paywall. Its rivals mostly offer a free tier and persistent profiles.
Grindr is a location grid for gay, bi, trans and queer people with an ad-supported free tier. See the Grindr review and the Pure vs Grindr comparison.
Feeld targets open-minded, non-monogamous and kink-curious users, with a free plan and one paid tier. Read the Feeld review.
Sniffies is a map-based platform you can use anonymously without an account; see the Sniffies review. For wider picks, see best discreet dating apps and best hookup apps.
