Fetster Review 2026: Genuinely Free, Since 2013, with an Undisclosed Operator
What a no-paywall kink community offers, why it has run since 2013, and the undisclosed operator and thin legal pages to weigh.

Quick Verdict
Good
Fetster is a free kink and BDSM community and personals site that has been online since 2013 and shows no paid tier at all. It suits adults who want groups, forums and messaging without entering a card.
The biggest weaknesses are that no company or owner is named, the legal pages are thin, and there is no published member count or independent review trail. Treat it as a low-risk way to look around, not a primary hub, and keep personal details private.
FetLife is the better choice if audience size and documented policies matter more than price.

This Fetster review covers a free social network and personals site for the BDSM and kink community. It lists forums, groups, events, photos, videos, classifieds and a member search, and it says it is free forever.
The decisive caveat is transparency: the terms name only "fetster.com" as operator, so no company or country is disclosed. Verdict: usable and free, but small and opaque.

What Fetster Is and What It Offers
Fetster describes itself as a BDSM, kink and alternative dating site. Its About page says members take a "Fetster pledge" to be single or in an open relationship and not to sell videos or porn.
The menu lists Fet Events, Photos, Videos, Blog, Classifieds, Forum, Groups and a Member Search. The About page adds private pages, friending, gifts and profile privacy settings.
The page footer shows it runs on Oxwall, an open-source community software package, which is why it looks like a classic social-network script.
Is It Really Free, and Who Pays for It?
Yes, on everything we could check. The homepage says "It's free. Free forever", and no premium, VIP or donation page appeared in the navigation or footer.
Fetster does not explain how it covers its costs. The terms say members agree to receive emails about "free services relating to all our websites" and free access to other sites it owns, which hints at a wider network, but the operator is not named.
Because there is no checkout, there is no refund policy, billing descriptor or subscription to cancel.
Rules, Verification and Moderation
The terms require users to be 18 or older and state "zero tolerance for fake, and underage profiles". They also say not every profile is checked right away and that the community's reports help catch problems.
Fetster reserves the right to demand a driver's licence, ID card or passport "at random", to ask for a phone call or live video, and to end accounts "at any time for any reason".
The terms also say admins can read messages between users, without notice, to check compliance. They ban Tor, anonymous proxies and VPNs, and bar nudity in public photo areas, financial domination, escort content and advertising.
No routine ID check at signup is documented, and no verified-badge system appears in the terms.
Privacy and Safety: What the Documents Say
The privacy policy is short. It says personal details such as names and email addresses are collected when submitted and used to fulfil requests and for the mailing list.
It says Fetster does not track users across third-party sites for targeted advertising and does not respond to Do Not Track signals. It says cookies may be used and that aggregate cookie data may be shared with third parties.
Data may be shared with authorities or fraud-prevention companies when required or to prevent fraud. Retention periods, encryption, two-factor login and data location are not stated, and the policy gives no deletion procedure.
The Internet Dating Safety page says Fetster does not run background checks on members. The usual advice applies: share no financial details and meet in public.
The ban on VPNs and the message-review clause matter for a privacy-minded kink audience. Both are in the terms, so read them first.
Community Size and Track Record
Fetster publishes no member count, and we found no app-store listing or Trustpilot page with a rating to cite. That means the pool size cannot be measured from public sources.
Specialist review sites and community directories rarely cover it. For comparison, a directory listing puts FetLife at roughly 10.4 million members, so Fetster is almost certainly far smaller.
A search in October 2026 found no data breach, regulator action or payment-processor dispute tied to Fetster. Absence of reports is not proof of a clean record, especially for a small site with a thin privacy policy.
How This Review Was Researched
This review rests on documents read in October 2026: the homepage, About page, terms of use, privacy policy, Internet Dating Safety page and contact page, plus a web search for reviews, breaches and app-store listings.
No account was created, no content was viewed behind the login and the product was not used. Sub-scores therefore rest on documented features and the absence of third-party reports, which gives them lower confidence.
Anything the site does not state is marked as not stated rather than guessed.
Fetster Versus the Main Alternatives
If community size and documented policies matter, FetLife is the larger kink network, with a named operator, optional ID verification and an optional paid support tier. See our FetLife alternatives list for more options.
Alt.com is a personals site with a free standard membership, paid tiers and a named operator. It is aimed at dating more than community discussion.
Fetster's only clear edge is that it is free with no upsell, which suits a low-commitment look around.
