Methodology

Each niche is scored 0–100 on profitability (estimated earnings per active creator), demand (audience search and subscription appetite) and competition (how saturated the category is — a higher score means it is tougher to stand out). Scores blend public platform payout data, search trends and pricing benchmarks.

  • Opportunity is a composite — 50% profitability, 30% demand and 20% reverse-competition — to surface the best risk-adjusted openings.
  • Trend reads the gap between live demand and saturation: a wide demand lead reads as Rising, a saturation lead as Cooling, and a balance as Steady.

About the index

How is profitability scored?

Each niche is scored on earning potential, audience demand, and how crowded it is, based on our hands-on testing and market observation. Higher profitability and demand are better; higher competition means it is tougher to stand out.

Which niche is most profitable right now?

Creator platforms still lead on raw earning potential, but AI companions show the strongest demand with relatively low competition. Use the sort controls — or the Opportunity sort — to rank by what matters to you.

What does the Opportunity score mean?

Opportunity is a composite metric that blends 50% profitability, 30% demand, and 20% reverse-competition. It surfaces the best risk-adjusted openings — niches that pay well and have real demand without being fully saturated. Sort by Opportunity to find the smartest place to start.

How do the Rising, Steady, and Cooling trend tags work?

The trend tag reads the gap between a niche’s live demand and how crowded it has become. A wide demand lead reads as Rising, a saturation lead reads as Cooling, and a rough balance reads as Steady. Toggle "Rising only" to filter the index down to the categories gaining momentum.

Can I sort, filter, or share the ranking?

Yes. Switch between the visual card view and a sortable data table, sort by profitability, opportunity, momentum, demand, or lowest competition, filter by keyword or a minimum profitability threshold, and copy or share the live top-10 ranking with one tap.
